Peach Cobbler-Inspired Mug Cake (Vegan)
My goal is always to eat clean, but sometimes I cannot fight the urge to indulge on a perfectly warm and sweet dessert. Mug cakes are great because you are making a single serving of cake and you can completely control how much sugar and fat go in it. No need to cook from a box! With peach and cinnamon as the main flavors, I call this delicious dessert the Peach Cobbler Inspired mug cake. Since there was no need for egg, and I used coconut milk, it happens to also be vegan! Share with others and please let me know if you give this a try! xoxo Fifi

10 Tips for Easy Meal Prepping
Many people lead such busy lives that they have to make a decision of which is more valuable to them– time, or money. It’s really a tough call, but when you make health the priority, it is an easier choice. Lunch breaks nowadays are used to make phone calls, run errands, and basically do anything BUT take an actual break. I find that if I pack my lunch (and breakfast too) I am likely to take a real break, and I eat healthier too! The added bonus of meal prepping is that you save money. You really can eat well for just a couple dollars per meal. Here are my…

Santa Barbara Vacation
Californians are pretty spoiled in that we have quite a few major cities that make fantastic vacation spots. Sometimes we don’t take advantage of what is right in our backyard, even though we could have an amazing vacation without even getting on an airplane. I am a native San Diegan and I’ve been a lot of places, but had not yet been to Santa Barbara. I am not sure if I am the only one, but I have the hardest time planning vacations with others. There are always scheduling conflicts, people who are non-committal, and financial limitations. I was getting close to graduation time, and the opportunity to get away…

A Day at The Ranch Malibu
When I was asked to join a group of fitness bloggers to experience and observe what this wonderful place, The Ranch at Live Oak Malibu had to offer for jump-starting fitness and facilitating weight loss, I was completely excited! Now I can share my firsthand knowledge with others who may benefit from this completely amazing and energizing experience. The Ranch The ranch itself is one very large plot of land just a few miles from the ocean, and just far enough off the beaten path to feel like it is a far away place. The less distractions during this journey, the better! In fact, my cell…

Natural Deodorant Review
Many have begun to discover the health benefits of using natural body care products. The skin is meant to protect all of our other vital organs, so why not protect our skin? The trick with natural deodorant is to find one that really keeps the underarms dry, so that the odor-causing bacteria does not have a chance to grow. Here’s my review of 5 different ones I tried.

Faux Ahi Poke Salad (Vegan)
It has taken some time, but I am finally to the point where I miss seafood at times. Although nothing will be changing in the near future about my diet, I have gotten creative. For many reasons people are unable to to eat ahi salad, whether it be a fear or uncooked meat, or a seafood allergy. I made this recipe as a refreshing snack, but also it’s fun that it is reminiscent of the decadent salad I once enjoyed. *Makes 2 servings 1 well-peeled (supremed) grapefruit, cubed Salad Dressing: 1 tsp white miso paste 1 tsp minced ginger 1 tbsp rice vinegar 1 tbsp sesame oil Red pepper flakes…

Metabolism Boosting Green Smoothie
Have you noticed the green drink craze lately? I don’t know when it started, but I think people would juice everything in their fridge if they could! It’s not a bad craze, though since most people have a tough time getting their recommended amount of fruit and veggies each day. I personally do not have a juicer, just a blender. This works just great for me, and I can gain all the same benefits without missing the fiber. Long ago when I discovered dark leafy greens could be added to blended drinks with no detected flavor, I was amazed! This drink is all about boosting the metabolism and detoxing. Kale…

From his Instagram (IG name: baba_juice) photos, it is obvious to see a very inspiring journey to become an intentionally nutritious eater. He’s conscious, proactive, and he gets results. Daniel Fast: My Top Picks
Though I’m still getting used to saying, “2013” I’m happy to live to see another year! Many people like to reset their body for optimal health by doing a fast. Fasting has varying levels– no water or food, no food, or even just abstaining from certain foods. Almost every year I participate in a 21 day Daniel Fast which can really vary from person to person. It is a great alternative for those who cannot do a full fast for medical reasons such as needing to take medication or issues with blood sugar. You still receive many benefits from this. Though I don’t believe it is mentioned, during this time…
