The FitFluence Event at YouTube Space LA

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of participating in the FitFluence event at YouTube Space LA. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I knew it was for people with blogs and YouTube channels related to health and fitness. I was also looking forward to meeting up with some of my favorite youtube pals!

I arrived to the event about 45 minutes after it began and it was very lively. Lots of people mingling and talking, music, a ton of different foods to sample and try, and a great selection of vendors showcasing new products, all from organic or repurposed materials. There was yogurt, cold pressed juice, vegan protein, and healthy cocktails.

At around the halfway point, there was an awesome panel where popular youtube personalities shared about their experiences. They were so open, positive and energetic. I got a chance to meet Cassey Ho of Pop Pilates! She was so sweet. IMG_8116.JPG

Another highlight was meeting in person some of the lovely ladies I’ve collaborated with this year such as Cobi of Veggitorials, Whitney of EcoVeganGal, Gemma Stafford and of course my close pal Lainey of SimplyBakings.


Then, if that weren’t enough, we all scored these awesome bags from Kate Hudson’s fitness line called Fabletics and they were filled with awesome items!

In addition to these items I got this super soft, high quality shirt from Kevita, the probiotic drink company.


I also got my phone armored up by ExoFab, a new company that makes sleek phone covers which are adhesive. What makes the covers unique is that the gel covers have a tacky finish so they stick to glass! Perfect for sticking to a glass or mirror surface for selfies or FaceTime. Mine isn’t as tacky as it was two weeks ago, however.



I had a lot of fun at the event. I can’t wait to attend another event at YouTube Space LA

Halloween Dessert Ideas

Hey there healthy bunnies! The holiday season is in full effect and that means lots of pumpkin as well as other delicious sweet treats. If you need ideas for a company potlocks, holiday parties, or treats to bring your friends and loved ones, I’ve got something delicious to share with you.

I recently did a collaboration with my favorite YouTube bakers: SimplyBakings, KawaiiSweetworld, Iheartrecipes, and LovelyLadyCakes.

We all came up with unique dessert ideas that you can use for Halloween and boy are they yummy ideas!

My contribution it was the cream cheese pumpkin dip which can make great appetizer. My favorite things to do carrots, celery, and graham crackers!


How to Make Starbucks’ Michigan Cherry Oat Bars (Vegan, Gluten Free)

If you follow my facebook fan page, you know I drink a lot of GTLs (green tea lemonades) from Starbucks in the warmer weather. Sometimes it’s tempting to also grab a yummy pastry– but they are so high in calories and refined sugar! It would likely be momentary satisfaction and lasting regret. When I do eat a pastry, it is usually the Michigan Cherry Oat Bar. It just seems like the healthier option, though I have not really researched this. What I do know, is that most of the most tasty desserts have refined sugar, wheat and butter. I wanted to come up with something made of more natural and less processed ingredients, but still very delicious.


  1. Grind 1 cup of gluten free oats in a food processor until it becomes a fine flour.
  2. Mix 1 cup oats with 1 cup of oat flour.
  3. Add 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, and combine all dry ingredients well.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of agave nectar.
  5. Melt 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil. Add about 1/3 or more if needed till mixture is wet, and stick enough to clump together.
  6. Mash mixture into the bottom of a baking pan until nice and flat. I used a 9×9 pan.
  7. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a food processor or blender take 3 cups of frozen berries, 1 tablespoon agave nectar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until smooth.
  9. Add chia seeds to mixture and let sit for 30-60 minutes.
  10. Spread berry mixture over oats in pan.
  11. For the topping, repeat steps 1-5, but add about 2 tablespoons of crushed walnuts.
  12. Carefully spread mixture over berry center. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
